services for children soon

The Vikram Hospital and Heart Centre will be extending its
services to children with the launch of its new heart surgery
programme. With the introduction of a cardio section exclusively
for children, the hi-tech hospital will compete its whole spectrum
of surgical treatment of heart diseases.
Addressing presspersons on Thursday, Vikram Hospital and Heart
Centre MD Dr. S.B. Vikram said the programme will be launched
from August 1. After successfully operating on adults, the hospital
will now offer its services to children. It is estimated that
one in 1000 children suffer from various heart related disorders.
After successfully performing high risk operations, the team
is now confident and ready
to extend its services to children. However, initially only
children over one-year will be operated upon.
He also said that the charge for services is low compared to
other super specialty hospitals in major cities. The hospital
also has the distinction of having performed the state’s
first drug-coated stent implantation surgery.
The hospital also has new team of experts.
